Owner and florist Cynthia Chamberlain was thrilled to be able to open in time for Valentine’s Day. She said “Since we were out of action for Christmas, it was really vital for us to get cracking to be open for February 14th.”
I dropped by to congratulate Cynthia on such a speedy rebuild and was so heartened to see the staff so busy with customers. It was great to see such determination rewarded post-earthquake.
Cynthia asked me to pass on her sincere thanks to the many, many local community members who had pitched in to make the rebuild a success. She says, “We couldn’t have done it without the wonderful support we have had from the locals – the baking, the morale boosting – it’s been fantastic.”
